I have worked for over 25 qualified years working with animals as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in the Cheshire area. Working mostly with dogs, cats and rabbits. I have also worked with farm animals, horses and birds. So I have tonnes of experience. Being a Veterinary Nurse I am caring, knowledgeable, professional, I will listen to your concerns and advice the best plan for your pet.
I qualified January 2019 as a Emmett Technique Dog Therapist, after I needed treatment myself for a balance disorder. I was introduced to this amazing treatment, which was also for animals. I soon went on a course and have never looked back.
I provide animal therapy, advice and home visits for all pets/animals. This complementary therapy, with a soft touch, will free muscles benefiting pain, discomfort, aid mobility and better quality of life. I specialise in chronic pain and Pre-op and Post op care. To get your animals back to health.
This can be used in combination with Veterinary medications or any other complementary treatments. Or on its own.
This means with my experience I can work with your pet to help get the best results and address your pets needs. Veterinary Referral is available and Complementary Therapy Insurance covered (always check your own policy). I am fully insured with veterinary defence, professional and public liability cover. I am also a member of IAAT (International Association of Animal Therapists).
Take a look below at the ways I have helped the animals in my care, and read testimonials from my happy clients.
"Pipple suffered from progressive osteoarthritis in her elbows, hips and stifles from the age of 8. By the age of 13 she was needing 3 different types of pain killer including Opioids to try and make her comfortable but she was still very stiff and reluctant to jump. Angie kindly made a home visit for pips first Emmett session and I noticed almost immediate results in terms of improved demeanour, appetite and social interaction.
Within 3 sessions we had managed to stop 2 of the strong painkillers and pip was so much happier and mobile. We maintained her with one anti-inflammatory medication and weekly/fortnightly sessions with Angie. After each session she would have a mad half hour and then sleep soundly. As a vet myself I was initially sceptical as to how Emmett could help a cat who needed so much pain medication and had advanced radio graphic changes but I was absolutely amazed and delighted by the response!!
In fact, it prompted me to undertake the Emmett course in horses as I was keen to be able to provide the same treatment to my own horses and eventually help others. I would not hesitate to utilise Angie’s skills again with any of my pets and thoroughly recommend her!"

"Wally is a lot better able to walk better behind legs moving independently. Less licking. He even got up to greet me when I came in from work which he hasn’t done for ages. Thanks so much x"

“Vincie was having problems with his back legs and hips, he could no longer jump into the back of my car and his back legs would collapse when he jumped out of the car. He could not walk even short distances without being in obvious pain. I could not see him miserable and suffering so I took him to my vets, I hoped they would be able to help him but feared the worst. The vet gave him some anti-inflammatory medication but also suggested that he might benefit from a new therapy that one of the veterinary nurses was studying.
Angela started Vincie’s treatment, fortnightly to begin with, within a couple of months I noticed how much happier he was and he was now able to jump in and out of the car with ease. We now only need to see Angela every three weeks.
A month or so ago he was able to run to catch up with me when we were walking in our local park, this is something he hadn’t been able to do for at least a couple of years.
I have to admit I was sceptical about this therapy; I couldn’t see how a simple touch could be of any help…. I was wrong!
Vincie will be seventeen at the beginning of May 2019, he loves going to see Angela, she is a wonderful lady and has given Vincie a new lease of life and me more precious time with my best friend. If you have an animal with an injury or like Vincie problems from old age, I would recommend trying Emmett therapy with Angela.
Thank you.”

"Angie came to visit us to see our dog Gunther after he'd had surgery on his cruciate ligament. He was healing very well and using his leg well but had lost a lot of muscle bulk in the leg, was definitely favouring weight bearing through the other but being only 3 was becoming increasingly hyper due to his restricted lead only exercise. After his 1st session with Angie Gunther was definitely much calmer and more settled for at least 3 or 4 days afterwards. He had a second session now being allowed off the lead and has managed to regain some of the muscle bulk but was still determined to try too much too soon. Again, Angie's treatment session made him very relaxed for a few days enabling him to rehab his operated leg in a more controlled manner.
Overall, we, and Gunther, found the treatment sessions of fantastic help to aid his recovery. Angie was very good and managed to calm a 3-year-old Doberman down from giving her cuddles and licks for the first 10 minutes to a chilled-out gentleman. Thank you"

"Our 13-year old spaniel could not tolerate MetaCam as treatment for his arthritis, and we were seeking an alternative when Emmett therapy was suggested.
Angela offered a measured approach with the initiation of the treatment, tailored to the fact that this elderly dog was still dealing with post MetaCam complications.
We were really impressed with the efficacy of the Emmett's, and Angela’s delivery.
Tyler took to Angela and the nature treatment immediately. He responded very well to the therapy, and showed ample signs of recognising and welcoming the relief when Angela applied manipulation to specific joints. The rate of improvement was maintained over several weeks of massage.
Angela was thorough and effective, showing great empathy in dealing with our grumpy little old fella. We can heartily recommend Angela, and vouch for the effectiveness of Emmetts as a treatment."

"Hi Angie, one week on from your Emmett therapy home visit for my Springer Spaniel Gem who had become very stiff and uncomfortable in her hips/back legs and there has been a very definite improvement. I have noticed she now has a more relaxed movement over this whole area and she has now gone back to walking ahead of me instead of dragging behind. Looking forward to next session, well worth doing, and Gem seemed to enjoy it, she slept for ages after massage! Thanks again and see you soon."

"Only one 20 minutes session with Angie and my dog who suffers quite badly with arthritis could walk freely for the first time in months."
